Bonjour! We are Damien & Michel, Master Reiki Practitioners and Teachers located in downtown Montreal, Quebec.
Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered by "laying on hands" and is based on the idea that an unseen "life force energy" flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one's "life force energy" is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy. The word Reiki is made of two Japanese words - Rei which means "God's Wisdom or the Higher Power" and Ki which is "life force energy". So Reiki is actually "spiritually guided life force energy."
One of the most significant historical developments was the "rediscovery" of traditional Japanese Reiki techniques in the 1990s.Western practitioners found that Reiki had continued evolving in Japan along different lines, leading to renewed interest in Usui's original methods and philosophy. This has created the interesting situation where modern Reiki practice often blends Eastern and Western approaches to this ancient healing art.

Reiki practitioners often work with the concept of chakras, which are energy centers believed to exist throughout the body. While chakras originate from Hindu and yogic traditions rather than traditional Japanese practice, many modern Reiki practitioners have integrated this system into their work because both traditions focus on the flow of life force energy. The seven main chakras are typically described as spinning wheels of energy located along the spine, from the base to the crown of the head. Each chakra is associated with different physical, emotional, and spiritual aspects of well-being.During Reiki sessions, practitioners often focus on these energy centers, believing that blockages or imbalances in chakras can contribute to physical illness or emotional distress. The gentle energy channeled through Reiki is thought to help clear these blockages and restore balanced energy flow.

With over 30 years as a professional musician and 27 years of teaching the piano, I have developed a deep understanding of emotional expression and human connection. My extensive work with young students has sharpened my intuitive sensitivity to feelings and emotions, allowing me to connect with the emotional sensitivity of expressing ourselves. These many years in my musical journey has helped me connect with the emotional sensitivity of expressing ourselves through alternate means: playing the piano and making music come to life, expressing my internal thoughts, ideas, and feelings, and sharing it without words, but through sounds, for myself and for others to be able to do the same. Through the many years of personal development and growth, my life journey has now brought me to the path of helping others through the means of healing and spiritual guidance. Utilizing the skills from my many years of being a musician and teaching, I can carry those skills over to help others with assisting their own spiritual journey and healing in their own lives. As an empath, I am sensitive to not only people, but animals as well. Being the avid animal lover that I am, I also want to help transfer the healing to animals too. I used to have a little French Bulldog years ago, which helped me learn how to handle little furry friends and how to care for them.

My name is Michel, and I grew up in the Province of Quebec, moving from Sept-Îles to Montreal and exploring many places in between. My journey with Reiki began at a young age through my mother, who trained to become a Reiki Master. Both my mother and I possess the gift of mediumship, a connection that has deeply influenced my spiritual path.I finally decided to pursue formal Reiki training a few years ago while living in Vancouver. Later, I moved to Montreal with my partner to be closer to my mother, who has since become open to receiving Reiki treatments herself. As my mom faces memory challenges, Reiki has proven beneficial in helping slow the progression and providing comfort during this difficult time. One of my most meaningful early experiences with Reiki was with my beloved Shiba Inu during her final days. Even with limited knowledge at the time, I was able to provide comfort and healing energy to ease her transition. This experience reinforced my calling to share Reiki's healing power.Today, I am passionate about offering Reiki to both animals and humans, believing that all beings deserve access to this gentle, healing energy. Whether working with people or their beloved pets, I find deep fulfillment in facilitating the natural healing process that Reiki provides.
